This Backcountry Hut Company cabin on Orcas Island is a contemporary retreat set within the forested landscape of Washington’s San Juan Islands. Built using the company’s modular prefabricated building system, the cabin combines a timber frame structure with large areas of glazing to connect the compact interior with the surrounding landscape. Backcountry Hut Company’s flat-pack kit-of-parts approach allows these structures to be delivered to remote locations and assembled efficiently while minimizing environmental impact.
